Here's just a small sampling of our members’ activity and success stories
Farming and Climate Change
NC4 member Tony Beattie is working with State Senator Ed Kennedy to advance the role the agricultural community can play to address climate change. Senate Bill S2842 proposes, amongst other measures, to:
- Allow agricultural businesses to install commercial solar arrays and retain their farm property tax category, 61A
- Establish a Commission to increase the role of agriculture in combating Climate Change. Measures will include improved composting infrastructure, soil carbon sequestering, technical support for reducing carbon footprints, and establishing a soil carbon baseline with 5 year measures to record increases in soil carbon.

Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Acton, Concord and Westford have GHG emission reduction targets and roadmaps. Learn more about their plans through the links provided in the resources page.
Building with Clean Energy
In 2021, Acton and Concord passed warrant articles requiring that new construction use clean energy technologies rather than fossil-fueled systems. Acton also applied the requirement to major renovation projects. Learn more about the warrant articles and FAQs in our resources page
